The Process

  1. The teacher's training process begins with the Christian Essentials course. This course is required for all those (including staff) who wish to serve in any type of ministry or leadership.
  2. During the Christian Essentials course, you will take a spiritual gifts test. This is a good way to find out if teaching is right for you.
  3. Complete this teaching application. You will then be contacted by a Rock U staff member or lay leader to discuss your application, encourage you and find out which courses you have interest in teaching.
  4. You will begin a Pilot Leadership Program. This is a four week program designed to give you the tools needed to become an successful and effective teacher as well as give you some teaching experience. The group you will be meeting with in this program is very small (3-4 people) so that you can really receive the attention and instruction you need.
  5. Upon completion of the Pilot Leadership Program, you are considered a Rock University Adjunct Instructor and will soon thereafter begin teaching.
  6. For more information or further questions, please contact Danielle Demko at danielle.demko@therocksandiego.org or shawn.wagner@therocksandiego.org
